an effort to engage

an effort to collaborate

an effort to create

an effort is a residency founded around narratives.

It is a space for West Asian artists to explore gateways into their thoughts, dialogues and futures.

We look for artists who, through their messaging or process, seek to connect and engage with their audience and wider communities uniquely.

We engage artists at different stages of their careers with a particular focus on those artists who explore connection.

Endeavouring to provide a new space of belonging, the residency and studio is a space for the selected artists to research, discuss and create, where each program is a collaboration between the artists and the residency committee. Artists will have the opportunity to participate in talks, workshops and open studios to share their thoughts, inspirations and outlook throughout their time at an effort.

The residency is a time for either a solo artist or a joint collaboration to produce a body of work. The program offers a series of 12-week and 4-week residencies with an effort’s central London studio.
